MMRRC ES Cell Clones and Related Cell Lines

Through special agreements with originators, the MMRRC distributes mutant ES cell clones, parental and feeder cell lines. Individual facilities may also provide additional services, such as:

  • supply chimeric mice created by microinjection;
  • breed chimeric mice to establish germline transmission.

Pricing & Re-sequencing:

An expansion and distribution fee of $500 is charged per ES cell clone, plus shipping. This is the minimal service, and does not include verification of the identity of the ES cell line by DNA sequencing. As we have occasionally encountered incorrectly identified ES cell clones, this option should be considered only if you are in a hurry and you are confident in your own ability to verify the identity of the ES cell clone. It usually takes between 3-4 weeks to receive the cell line if you choose this option.

We recommend that you have the cell line sequence verified if you will not perform the verification at your facility. No charges will apply if we are unable to confirm the identity of the requested ES cell line. A total of $750, plus shipping, is charged per ES cell line that has been verified by repeat DNA sequencing ($500 for distribution of an expanded ES cell line, plus $250 for sequence confirmation). Expansion plus verification of an ES cell line by DNA sequencing requires up to 3 months.

Parental and feeder cell lines are available for some major collections.
Parental cell lines cost $500 for 2 vials (plus shipping).
Feeder cell lines cost $50/vial (plus shipping).
