MMRRC Sequence Search Help

We recommend using the sequence search tools provided via MGI's Sequences page to identify candidate mouse genes for searching the MMRRC catalog or IMSR's composite listing. (IMSR is an international listing containing mouse lines from several repository resources.)

Sequence ID Searches

If you already have a sequence accession ID (Genbank, Entrez, LocusLink, etc.), use MGI's Genes and Markers Query Form to obtain a list of candidate gene matches. Toward the bottom of the query form is a field for Accession ID; this search will only return mouse Gene and Marker matches for the sequence ID. (In the future we will incorporate Accession ID searching in the MMRRC catalog search form.)

BLAST Searches

Use your preferred BLAST search tool to determine candidate gene matches. (MGI's MouseBLAST is one such tool.) Then query the MMRRC catalog (or the IMSR search form) by the candidate mouse genes to locate candidate strains.
