Allele Symbol: B3galt5tm1Dgen Name: targeted mutation 1, Deltagen Alteration at locus: Knockout |
Genetic Alterations:
The endogenous gene promoter drives expression of inserted lacZ gene.
Genotype Determination:
ES Cell Line: E14
Phenotype:
There were no significant differences detected in the homozygous mutant mice when compared with age- and gender-matched wild-type control mice.
Phenotypic data provided by Deltagen, Inc. Full report available through MGI data link (includes genotyping information under "Molecular Biology" at top of screen).
Strain Type: Congenic
Founder genetic background: 129 P2/B6
Strain genetic background: C57BL/6
Strain Development:
ES cells derived from the 129/OlaHsd mouse substrain were used to generate chimeric mice. F1 mice were generated by breeding with C57BL/6 females. F2 homozygous mutant mice were produced by intercrossing F1 heterozygous males and females. Subsequent crosses made to C57BL/6.
Donor: Deltagen

Mice recovered from a cryo-archive will have health surveillance performed on the
resuscitated animals.
Limited quantities of breeder mice (recovered litter) are available from a cryoarchive; recovered litter usually available to ship in 3 to 4 months.
* Additional charges may apply for any special requests. Shipping costs are in addition to the basic distribution/resuscitation fees. Information on shipping costs and any additional charges will be provided by the supplying MMRRC facility.

| MMRRC Item # | Description | Distribution Fee/unit (US $) |
Units |
|---|---|---|---|
| 011604-UNC-RESUS | Resuscitation from cryopreserved material | $1,906.00 | litter a |
| 011604-UNC-EMBRYO | Cryopreserved embryo | $979.00 | aliquot c |
a The distribution fee covers the expense of resuscitating mice from the cryo-archive; you will receive the resulting litter. The litter will contain at minimum one breedable mutant carrier; the actual number of animals and the gender and genotype ratios will vary. (Typically, multiple breeder pairs can be established from the recovered litter.) Prior to shipment, the MMRRC repository will provide information about the animals recovered. If you anticipate or find that you need to request specific genotypes, genders or quantities of mice in excess of what is likely from a resuscitated litter, you may discuss available options and pricing with the supplying MMRRC repository.
c An aliquot contains a sufficient number of embryos (in one or more vials and based on the transfer success rate of the MMRRC facility) to transfer to at least two recipients. The MMRRC makes no guarantee concerning embryo transfer success experienced in the recipient investigator's laboratory. Neither gender nor genotype ratios are guaranteed.
