Strain Information

Tubm1Btlr
Name: TUB bipartite transcription factor; mutation 1, Bruce Beutler
Synonyms: troy
Type: Allele
Species: Mus musculus (mouse)
Chromosome: 7
Alteration at locus: Chemically Induced
Tub
Name: TUB bipartite transcription factor
Synonyms: rd5, tub
Type: Gene
Species: Mouse
Chromosome: 7
Alteration at locus: Chemically Induced
NCBI: 22141
Homologene: 31147
Genetic Alterations
ENU-induced C to T transition at base pair 109,020,954 (v38) on chromosome 7, or base pair 10,075 in the GenBank genomic region NC_000073 for the Tub gene. The mutation corresponds to residue 399 in the mRNA sequence NM_021885 within exon 3 of 12 total exons. The mutation converts arginine (R) 60 of the Tub protein to a premature stop codon (R60*).
Phenotype

Homozygous: Mice showed increased body weights compared to wild-type controls.

Heterozygous: No abnormal phenotype detected.

Strain Development
Original mutant was a C57BL/6J G3 ENU-induced mutant; all subsequent crosses to maintain strain were on C57BL/6J background only.
Suggested Control Mice
Wild-type littermates or C57BL/6J mice
MMRRC Genetic QC Summary
The MMRRC Centers have developed a genetic QC pipeline using MiniMUGA array genotyping to provide additional information on strain backgrounds for MMRRC congenic and inbred strains. For more information on when data may be available, or to request genotyping for a strain of interest, please contact . Older strains may not have this information.
