Each night we reindex the HTML pages on the MMRRC website (but not content contained in the dynamically generated JSP pages). This allows investigators to search for any word or term that appears on any HTML page within the MMRRC website, including our Strain Detail Sheets.
The Text Search field above the MMRRC website navigation bars (top right corner) can be used to find almost any significant word, including the submitter name and institution, and keywords in the strain description. The site-wide text search can be used to locate phenotypic terms used in descriptions; however, unlike the phenotype search described in Phenotype Strain Search Help page, this is a text matching search and does not use a structured phenotypic classification with synonyms in selecting matching pages.
(While the text search mechanism utilizes text search features such as word-stemming, it does not include synonym lookups. Unlike the catalog search form, which automatically includes all alleles for a requested gene, the text search does not automatically include all allelic variants of a given gene.)
