Genetic Alterations
The Clec10a gene and Mgl2 gene both consist of 10 exons. A FRT-flanked targeting vector containing the neomycin resistance gene and a lone 5' loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 2 of the Mgl2 gene, and another loxP site was inserted downstream of exon 10. Upon correct homologous recombination the entire Clec10a gene was replaced by the loxP site inserted downstream of the Mgl2 gene. The targeting construct was electroporated into Bruce4 embryonic stem (ES) cells.

ES Cell Sex and Genotype: These ES Cells are expected to be male (XY) and heterozygous/hemizygous for the mutation.

Health Status Report

Mice recovered from a cryo-archive will have health surveillance performed on the resuscitated animals.

Availability Level

Cryo-preserved ES cell line material can usually be shipped in 2 to 4 weeks. Resequencing adds an additional 4 to 6 weeks (but is recommended to confirm that the material has not been contaminated or otherwise incorrectly identified). The microinjection services add an additional 10 to 12 weeks and can vary from cell line to cell line.

Distribution of this strain requires submission of the MMRRC Conditions of Use (COU). A link to the COU web form will be provided via email after an order has been placed; the form should be completed then or the email forwarded to your institutional official for completion.

The donor or their institution limits the distribution to non-profit institutions only.
