Genetic Alterations
Introduction of 3609 heavy chain coupled with Vk21c light chain.

Curation note: The data provided for this strain are incomplete and cannot be uniquely tied to genetic entities. The identity of the Ighb allele, for example, is uncertain; it may be a synonym for Ighg2ab (MGI:6515767). Components "3609" and "Vk21c", likewise, are not unique identifiers for genes or other genomic features. The transgene nomenclature rests on the provision of submitter data pointing to DNA segment, 90k2-T7 (NCBI Gene:53097) and a founder ID of 3369. The transgene was randomly inserted. It is unclear what promoter drives the expression.

    Strain GQC Summary
    Gene Specific Genotyping:

To request gene-specific and other genotyping services for a strain, please contact the distribution MMRRC Center for more information.

    Background Genetic Quality:

The MMRRC has developed a Genetic Quality Control pipeline using the MiniMUGA array to provide additional information to identify and validate genetic backgrounds of MMRRC strains. For more information on whether genetic background data is available, please contact MMRRC_GeneticQC@med.unc.edu. Note: that MiniMUGA genetic background data is not available on all strains, but can be ordered if desired.

    Strain Development

The transgenic construct Vh3609mu/Vk21c was injected into C3HxC57BL/6 eggs. Seven founders were identified and bred to CB17 mice (RRID unavailable; please contact Charles River Laboratory or see https://www.criver.com/products-services/find-model/fox-chase-cb17-mouse?region=3611; additional information from MGI: http://www.informatics.jax.org/inbred_strains/mouse/docs/C.shtml), selecting H-2 d/d at the second generation. Founder #3369 was selected and continued to be crossed to CB17 for 33 generations.

Curation note: "CB17" does not refer to the similarly named line from Taconic (RRID:IMSR_TAC:cb17sc)

Disclaimer: If MMRRC Strain Genetic Quality Control (GQC; based on MiniMUGA genotyping and analysis) has been completed for this strain, the information might differ from the genetic background information provided by the submitter. MiniMUGA genetic analysis is done on a strain’s tissue samples taken when archived by or ordered from the assigned MMRRC Center.
