Strain Information

Cd40lgm1Btlr
Name: CD40 ligand; mutation 1, Bruce Beutler
Synonyms: walla
Type: Allele
Species: Mus musculus (mouse)
Chromosome:
Alteration at locus: Chemically Induced
Cd40lg
Name: CD40 ligand
Synonyms: Tnfsf5, T-BAM, HIGM1, CD154, IMD3, gp39, Ly-62, Cd40L
Type: Gene
Species: Mus musculus (mouse)
Chromosome: X
Alteration at locus: Chemically Induced
NCBI: 21947
Homologene: 56
Genetic Alterations
ENU-induced T to C transition at position 673 of the Cd40lg transcript (NM_011616.2 from NCBI Build 37.1), in exon 5 of 5 total exons. The mutation results in substitution of serine with proline at position 221 of the CD40L protein, which is located in the TNF-like extracellular region.
Genotype Determination

Phenotype
Homozygous: Homozygous walla mice exhibit absent T-dependent IgG responses to the recombinant Semliki Forest Virus (rSFV)-encoded model antigen ?-galactosidase. They display normal T-independent IgM responses and serum IgA levels. The frequencies and surface phenotypes of peripheral blood T cells and B cells are normal in walla homozygotes.

Heterozygous: Wild type.
Mammalian Phenotype Terms
Allelic Composition: Cd40lgm1Btlr/Cd40lgm1Btlr (Genetic Background: C57BL/6J-Cd40lgm1Btlr )

Allelic Composition: Cd40lgm1Btlr/Cd40lgm1Btlr (Genetic Background: involves: C57BL/6J )

MMRRC Genetic QC Summary
The MMRRC Centers have developed a genetic QC pipeline using MiniMUGA array genotyping to provide additional information on strain backgrounds for MMRRC congenic and inbred strains. For more information on when data may be available, or to request genotyping for a strain of interest, please contact mmrrc@ucdavis.edu. Older strains may not have this information.

Colony and Husbandry Information

Random intra-strain mating.

Colony Surveillance Program and Current Health Reports

Mice recovered from a cryo-archive will have health surveillance performed on recipient females. Health reports will be provided prior to shipment. If you require additional health status information, please email mmrrc@ucdavis.edu.

Order Request Information

Limited quantities of breeder mice (recovered litter) are available from a cryoarchive; recovered litter usually available to ship in 3 to 4 months.

Cryopreserved material may be available upon request, please inquire to mmrrc@ucdavis.edu for more information.

Distribution of this strain requires submission of the MMRRC Conditions of Use (COU). A link to the COU web form will be provided via email after an order has been placed; the form should be completed then or the email forwarded to your institutional official for completion.

The donor or their institution limits the distribution to non-profit institutions only.
