ACE floxed mouse,

Gene Information

Allele: Acetm1.1Hlu (Mus musculus (mouse))
Name: angiotensin I converting enzyme (peptidyl-dipeptidase A) 1; targeted mutation 1.1, Hong Lu
Chromosome: 11
Alteration at locus: Conditional
Monarch Initiative (Disease and Phenotype Associations): MGI:6118902
Gene Symbol: Ace (Mus musculus (mouse))
Name: angiotensin I converting enzyme (peptidyl-dipeptidase A) 1
Synonyms: CD143
Chromosome: 11
Alteration at locus: Conditional
Monarch Initiative (Disease and Phenotype Associations): MGI:87874
Genetic Alterations
Ace (MGI:87874) floxed mice were generated by InGenious Targeting Laboratory (Ronkonkoma, NY) using a construct containing three loxP sites encompassing exons 14 and 15, and a neomycin resistance cassette in intron 13 flanked by 2 FRT sites as shown here: Figure 1, Supplemental material for PMID:27055902

Additional sequence information and targeting detail here:
The neo cassette was removed by breeding to B6;SJL-Tg(ACTFLPe)9205Dym/J (Jackson Strain #003800).

    MeSH Terms
      Strain Development

      Per InGenious protocol:

      1. identification of BAC clone (C57BL/6) with Ace gene
      2. generation of targeting vector (approx. 13 kb), sequenced, NotI-linearized
      3. electroporation into RTLIC1 embryonic stem cells (mixed B6N;B6J origin)
      4. Neo selection and implantation into BALB/c females
      5. mating of chimera with wildtype B6N
      6. delivery as hets to investigator
      7. investigator used B6;SJL-Tg(ACTFLPe)9205DymJ (Jackson Strain #003800) to delete the Neo cassette
