Hscbtm1c(EUCOMM)Hmgu
Name: HscB iron-sulfur cluster co-chaperone; targeted mutation 1c, Helmholtz Zentrum Muenchen GmbH
Synonyms: Hscbfl
Type: Allele
Species: Mus musculus (mouse)
Chromosome: 5
Alteration at locus: Conditional
Hscb
Name: HscB iron-sulfur cluster co-chaperone
Type: Gene
Species: Mouse
Chromosome: 5
Alteration at locus: Conditional
NCBI: 100900
Homologene: 13945
Genetic Alterations
Excision of FRT-Neo cassette
Genotype Determination
ES Cell Line
JM8A3.N1 derived from C57BL/6N-Atm1Brd
Phenotype
Homozygous KO animals are not viable. Conditional KO bred to blood/red blood cell-specific CRE transgenic lines develop pancytopenia and sideroblastic anemia. Conditional homozygous mice have no phenotype
Strain Development
Mice carrying the Hscbtm1a allele on B6N background (EuMMCR) were bred to B6N.129S4-Gt(ROSA)26Sortm1(FLP1)Dym/J (RRID:IMSR_JAX:016226) to excise the Neo/Lacz cassette. The resulting progeny were backcrossed 20 generations to C57BL/6J (RRID:IMSR_JAX:000664), then sib-mated for about 5 generations.
Suggested Control Mice
C57BL/6J
MMRRC Genetic QC Summary
The MMRRC Centers have developed a genetic QC pipeline using MiniMUGA array genotyping to provide additional information on strain backgrounds for MMRRC congenic and inbred strains. For more information on when data may be available, or to request genotyping for a strain of interest, please contact csmmrrc@jax.org. Older strains may not have this information.

Colony and Husbandry Information

Cryo-recovered strains distributed by the MMRRC at JAX are shipped to the customer from the Pathogen & Opportunistic-Free Animal Room G200 - see https://www.jax.org/jax-mice-and-services/customer-support/customer-service/animal-health/health-status-reports.

Mice recovered from a cryo-archive will have health surveillance performed on recipient females. Health reports will be provided prior to shipment. If you require additional health status information, please email csmmrrc@jax.org.
