Stock Number:
068069-UCD
Citation ID:
RRID:MMRRC_068069-UCD
Other Names:
Esrp2 KO (Esrp2-/-)

Strain Information

Esrp2tm1(KOMP)Vlcg
Name: epithelial splicing regulatory protein 2; targeted mutation 1, Velocigene
Type: Allele
Species: Mus musculus (mouse)
Chromosome: 8
Alteration at locus: Knockout
Esrp2
Name: epithelial splicing regulatory protein 2
Synonyms: 9530027K23Rik, Rbm35b
Type: Gene
Species: Mouse
Chromosome: 8
NCBI: 77411
Homologene: 32617
Genetic Alterations
The entire coding sequence of Esrp2 was deleted and replaced with a LacZ cassette.
ES Cell Line
VGB6 derived from C57BL/6NTac
Phenotype

None/Normal/Wild-type. Mice with this deletion have no apparent defect. However, when deleted along with its paralog Esrp1 (Esrp1-/-; Esrp2-/-) there are more extensive developmental defects than seen with deletion of Esrp1 alone.

Strain GQC Summary
Gene Specific Genotyping:

To request gene-specific and other genotyping services for a strain, please contact the distribution MMRRC Center for more information.

Background Genetic Quality:

The MMRRC has developed a Genetic Quality Control pipeline using the MiniMUGA array to provide additional information to identify and validate genetic backgrounds of MMRRC strains. For more information on whether genetic background data is available, please contact MMRRC_GeneticQC@med.unc.edu. Note: that MiniMUGA genetic background data is not available on all strains, but can be ordered if desired.

Strain Development
The Esrp2 gene locus was replaced by a LacZ and floxed neomycin selection cassette. LacZ expression was placed under the Esrp2 promoter, while neomycin expression is driven by the human ubiquitin C promoter. The C57BL6-derived Esrp2KO ES clone, AG3, was injected into BALB/c blastocysts. Chimeras were crossed to C57BL/6J females. Germline transmission was confirmed by PCR. Heterozygous Esrp2+/−mice were crossed to generate Esrp2−/−KO mice.

Disclaimer: If MMRRC Strain Genetic Quality Control (GQC; based on MiniMUGA genotyping and analysis) has been completed for this strain, the information might differ from the genetic background information provided by the submitter. MiniMUGA genetic analysis is done on a strain's tissue samples taken when archived by or ordered from the assigned MMRRC Center.

Order Information

When this strain becomes available, Limited quantities of breeder mice (recovered litter) are available from a cryoarchive; recovered litter usually available to ship in 3 to 4 months.

Distribution of this strain requires submission of the MMRRC Conditions of Use (COU). A link to the COU web form will be provided via email after an order has been placed; the form should be completed then or the email forwarded to your institutional official for completion.

The submitter or their institution limits the distribution to non-profit institutions only.
