Strain Description

Phenotype
Homozygote mutants lose Nr2f1 expression in the ventricle zone in most of the pallium (cortex) and specific domains of subpallium at embryonic days 12.5 and 14.5. There was caudal expansion of the prefrontal neocortex and a caudal expansion of the somatosensory neocortex domain at postnatal day 5.

Strain Development
RNA mixtures were injected into E0.5 hs1172-/- mouse zygotes. 5 ul crRNA (100 uM) and 5 ul tracrRNA (100 uM) (Cat#: 1072532) were used for each injection. Enhancer deletion mice were genotyped with PCR, the mice were outbred with wild type C57BL/6 for three generations to reduce the number of potential off-target mutations. A mouse line with a single hs271 deletion was generated by screening for mice that had a recombination event that separated the hs271+hs1172 double deletion alleles.
