Strain Information

Prss29em2Tesp
Name: protease, serine 29; endonuclease-mediated mutation 2, Thomas E Spencer
Type: Allele
Species: Multi-species
Chromosome: 17
Prss29
Name: serine protease 29
Synonyms: mISP-2, Isp2
Type: Gene
Species: Mouse
Chromosome: 17
NCBI: 114662
VEGA: 17
Homologene: 70877
Genetic Alterations
Codon-optimized Cre, EGFP, self-cleaving peptide 2A, and a floxed neomycin cassette were knocked into the 3’ end of the Prss29 gene after exon 6, downstream of an internal ribosome entry site.
ES Cell Line
JM8.F6 derived from C57BL/6N
Phenotype
IRES-Codon optimized Cre and EGFP were knocked into the 3’ end of the Prss29 locus. Cre is expressed specifically in the glandular epithelium of the uterus during pregnancy.

Strain Development

CRISPR/Cas9 was used on C57BL/6N-derived JM8.F6 ESCs to knock in the described genetic alteration. Subsequent breeding used C57BL/6NJ (RRID:IMSR_JAX:005304).

MMRRC Genetic QC Summary
The MMRRC Centers have developed a genetic QC pipeline using MiniMUGA array genotyping to provide additional information on strain backgrounds for MMRRC congenic and inbred strains. For more information on when data may be available, or to request genotyping for a strain of interest, please contact mmrrc@missouri.edu. Older strains may not have this information.

Order Request Information

Limited quantities of breeder mice (recovered litter) are available from a cryoarchive; recovered litter usually available to ship in 3 to 4 months.

Cryopreserved material may be available upon request, please inquire to mmrrc@missouri.edu for more information.

Distribution of this strain requires submission of the MMRRC Conditions of Use (COU). A link to the COU web form will be provided via email after an order has been placed; the form should be completed then or the email forwarded to your institutional official for completion.

The donor or their institution limits the distribution to non-profit institutions only.
