    Strain Development
    To create the tm1c allele, the original tm1a, targeted ES cells (EPD0736_3_G01, JM8A3.N1 - C57BL/6N) were injected into B6(Cg)-Tyrc-2J/J (JAX Strain #000058). The chimeras were backcrossed once to B6(Cg)-Tyrc-2J/J screen for integration. One male from this mixed background was backcrossed twice to C57BL/6J (JAX Strain #000664). The offspring were mated with 129S4/SvJaeSor-Gt(ROSA)26Sortm1(FLP1)Dym/J (JAX Strain #003946). Subsequently three backcrosses to C57BL/6J (JAX Strain #000664).
