Genetic Alterations

Amino acid 379 in the Adgrb1 gene is a histidine in BALB/c and an arginine in C57BL/6J.

  • MMRRC:44029 (THIS STRAIN) introduces a histidine into the C57BL/6J background (R379H)
  • MMRRC:44031 introduces an arginine into the BALB/cJ background (H379R)
HGVS nomenclature:
  • mRNA RefSeq: NM_174991.3
  • protein RefSeq: NP_778156.2
  • change, nucleic acid level: c.1136G>A (THIS STRAIN), c.1136A>G (MMRRC:44031)
  • predicted change, amino acid level: p.Arg379His (R379H - THIS STRAIN), p. His379Arg (MMRRC:44031)
    Note: RefSeq NM_174991.3 has a wild-type G in position 1136.

    Strain Development
Guide RNAs were designed against the mouse reference genome (C57BL/6J-based) to modify C57BL/6J embryos. Subsequent backcross onto C57BL/6J wild-type animals (N3) to ensure the removal of any off-target mutations introduced by CRISPR gene editing.
    Suggested Control Mice

    MMRRC Genetic QC Summary
Genetic QC analysis (GQC) was performed on representative samples from the donor submission and provides a baseline reference. Regardless of the material ordered (live mice, sperm, embryos, resuscitated animals), the provided material is guaranteed to contain the primary genetic alteration of interest; however, the composition of the genetic background may vary (See Reproducibility sections of the report for details). The impact of genetic background on previously reported phenotypes has not been evaluated.

GQC analysis was done on two XY samples, DX0783 and VX8208 at the time of importation and the conclusions are consistent in all samples. The results of the analysis are fully congruent with the SDS and VX8208 is the representative sample selected for the report. The strain background is C57BL/6J and there is no evidence of a secondary background. The mitochondrial genome and Y chromosome are consistent with the C57BL/6J background. The genome of the MMRRC:44029 strain is 100% inbred. None of the constructs detectable by MiniMUGA are present.

    Order Request Information

Limited quantities of breeder mice (recovered litter) are available from a cryoarchive; recovered litter usually available to ship in 3 to 4 months.

Cryopreserved material may be available upon request, please inquire to mmrrc@med.unc.edu for more information.

The donor or their institution limits the distribution to non-profit institutions only.

Distribution of this strain requires submission of the MMRRC Conditions of Use (COU). A link to the COU web form will be provided via email after an order has been placed; the form should be completed then or the email forwarded to your institutional official for completion.

Additional charges may apply for any special requests. Shipping costs are in addition to the basic distribution/resuscitation fees. Information on shipping costs and any additional charges will be provided by the supplying MMRRC facility.

044029-UNC-RESUS Litter recovered from cryo-archive $2,914.00 / Non-Profit Litter Recovered litter4; additional fees for any special requests.
Cryopreserved material may be available upon request, please inquire to mmrrc@med.unc.edu for more information.

1 The distribution fee covers the expense of rederiving mice from a live mouse; you will receive the resulting litter. The litter will contain at minimum one mutant carrier; the actual number of animals and the gender and genotype ratios will vary. (Typically, multiple breeder pairs can be established from the recovered litter.) Prior to shipment, the MMRRC will provide information about the animals recovered. If you anticipate or find that you need to request specific genotypes, genders or quantities of mice in excess of what is likely from a resuscitated litter, you may discuss available options and pricing with the supplying MMRRC facility.

2 An aliquot contains a sufficient number of embryos (in one or more vials or straws and based on the transfer success rate of the MMRRC facility) to transfer into one to three recipients. The MMRRC makes no guarantee concerning embryo transfer success experienced in the recipient investigator's laboratory. Neither gender nor genotype ratios are guaranteed.

3 An aliquot is one straw or vial with sufficient sperm to recover at least one litter of mice, as per provided protocols, when performed at the MMRRC facility. The MMRRC makes no guarantee concerning the success of these procedures when performed outside the MMRRC facilities.

4 The distribution fee covers the expense of resuscitating mice from the cryo-archive; you will receive the resulting litter.
